Community and School Projects
We are very much interested to become involve in both local and global community and school projects. Below is a list of the various active projects or children are currently participating in. If you, or your school, would like to work on a project with us, please contact us, and we would be delighted to discuss such a possibility.
Please, do consider giving us a donation to help us succeed in improving the lives of our children and members of the Kimilili community. |

Gardening Vocational Training Program
We’ve created a practical and well-founded plan for our CBSM Gardening Vocational Training Program. |
Clean Water Project
Our life depends on clean drinking water. For example, a person can survive for up to two months without food but they can’t make it for four days without water. Water is a need that we cannot, as human beings, live without. We’ve been giving this topic a great amount of thought. As a result, we’ve decided to start a clean water project. Contaminated drinking water is a worldwide crisis and Kimilili and surrounding areas are not an exemption. |
Village Phone Salon
We set up two women’s co-op, or business initiative, called Village Phone Salon (VPS). Our Kimilili VPS are situated in Kimilili Town and Chwele, Baraki central marketplaces. The Village Phone Operators (VPO) run the various phone services. These tasks are selling prepaid telephone cards to customers who have their own mobile phones, managing the salon phone services (customers making outgoing local and international calls, as well as noting down messages of incoming calls), and selling snacks and beverages to customers. All of these services are offered for fees. |
Songs & Languages
Different schools in Kenya, Cameroon, England, Germany, United States, and Canada are "trading" songs with the children in Kimilili. The focus of this project, is for school children to sing songs in their native languages, as well learn to sing songs in various other languages. |
