We are in great need of donations to buy Family Drip Irrigation Kits for our community members. This past year, Kenyans nation-wide suffered great food shortages due to drought. All predictions point in the direction that next years’ crops will be drastic decreased due to the persisting weather conditions. |

We need your help
There are many ways you can positively change the lives of our Community Breakthrough Support Mission children. Whether it is in the form of sponsorship or donations, moral support, or as a volunteer, we welcome any and all gestures of your generosity.
The lists below are some concrete examples of what you could do today to help children in Kimilili live a life of better health, education, and happiness. We are constantly updating this list. If there is something you would like to do or give that is not on the list, please, feel free to contact us with your suggestions.
Helping our children
This section presents the profiles of six of our children, as well as their wishes for living a better life.
Name: Any number of our football enthusiasts Year of Birth: ages 6-11 We held our first Kimilili Football Tournament in July 2010. It was a roaring success with 16 schools from near and far attending the event. The players were thrilled to be playing with a real ball for the first time in their lives. It is impossible to explain how every one of our boys dream of nothing more than to receive their own ball. Estimate costs: 28 USD |
Name: Joshua Pwoka's youth gardening group
Year of Birth: ages 8-12 Last year a group of youths, lead by Joshua Pwoka (12 yrs) formed a garden co-op. They managed to learn about seedlings and growing cabbage and suku mawiki. We now want to offer them a plot of leased land to learn about composting, mulch irrigation systems, and polyculture. To do this they need seeds and a treadle water pump. Estimate costs: 110 USD |
Sponsoring our Teachers and School
If you wish, you can also donate the following to the school as a whole.
Our dedicated teachers and volunteers know the importance of teaching math and languages (Kiswahili and English) to the children. We are always looking for pedagogically sound and imaginative ways to do this (see video).
Therefore, we would like to build a Learning Landscape. This is a grid-based playground for elementary math education. The playground combines active movement and competition with mathematical exercises, providing an outdoor classroom framework for fun and engaged learning. Estimate costs: 260 USD (for building- and instructional materials) |

Where would be without our dedicated teachers? Their thoughts are always for the children first, but barring this, they would like learning materials so that they can become better teachers. |
We took out a loan (1000 USD) to relocate and rebuild temporary school facilities. It would be a great lift off our shoulders, if you could contribute to helping us pay back this loan. |

Thank you Palm Security Service
Thank you Helmores Estate Agent
Hemores Estate Agent in the UK have made a generous contribution towards the purchase of school land. With their help have reached our goal. Here is a testimony from George, Senior Negotiator. Helmores Estate Agent, Devon, UK
"We read the proposal about the football tournament and it looked like a great cause. We already sponsor a local football team here in the UK and so it seemed perfect to also sponsor one in Kenya. Also, most of us here at Helmores have young children, and so this seemed a small way to help some children less fortunate. Well done CBSM for arranging such a brilliant event!" |
