We are in great need of donations to buy Family Drip Irrigation Kits for our community members. This past year, Kenyans nation-wide suffered great food shortages due to drought. All predictions point in the direction that next years’ crops will be drastic decreased due to the persisting weather conditions.
The costs are:
200 Litre Kit (300 sq meters) costs 150 USD
500 Litre Kit (1000 sq meters) costs 225 USD
Each kit would be save a household from the severe challenges posed by the drought. Thank you.
We need your help
There are many ways you can positively change the lives of our Community Breakthrough Support Mission children. Whether it is in the form of sponsorship or donations, moral support, or as a volunteer, we welcome any and all gestures of your generosity.
The lists below are some concrete examples of what you could do today to help children in Kimilili live a life of better health, education, and happiness. We are constantly updating this list. If there is something you would like to do or give that is not on the list, please, feel free to contact us with your suggestions.
Helping our children
This section presents the profiles of six of our children, as well as their wishes for living a better life.
Name: Stella N.
Year of Birth: 2005
School grade: nursery school
Stella’s grandmother, her caretaker, wishes for Stella to receive regular HIV antiviral medicine. She is certain that Stella’s improved health would allow her to attend school regularly and have enough energy to play with her sister and friends.
Estimate costs: 120 USD/ month
Sponsoring our Teachers and School
If you wish, you can also donate the following to the school as a whole.
Where would be without our dedicated teachers? Their thoughts are always for the children first, but barring this, they would like learning materials so that they can become better teachers.
Since we had to be evacuated out of Nairobi last year and we lost all of our teaching tools in a fire, we need five complete sets of teaching manuals (one set per teacher).
Estimate costs: 120 USD/ set
We just recently took out a loan (1000 USD) to relocate and rebuild temporary school facilities. It would be a great lift off our shoulders, if you could contribute to helping us pay back this loan.
The loan is only for building materials. The Kimilili community leaders and members are generously offering their labour to CBSM.
Estimate costs: 55 USD/ month
